“Striving for birth equity through unity and empowerment”

A Kern County community steering committee formed in February 2021, meeting monthly to address health and outcome disparities in black infants and mothers.
Our Mission
Members of the Kern County Black Infant Maternal Health Initiative (BIMHI) are committed to promoting, educating, supporting, and advocating for better health outcomes for Black infants and mothers in our community through partnership with traditional and non-traditional partners. It is our goal to bring birth equity to our Black community by uniting and empowering birthing parents and physicians.
